The Physics of Flight 77's Trajectory

Our JREF Forum buddy, Ryan Mackey, a NASA physicist, checks in with a debunking of the latest nonsense from CIT nutbars Aldo and Craig.

The true vertical acceleration of the aircraft is equal to the second time derivative of the altitude y. However, we need to re-express the equation in terms of time. Since we have assumed a constant horizontal velocity, we can re-express x in terms of time:

(2): x = x0 - 781 t feet / second


No, I don't understand it all either, but this post is here as a pointer for those that do.
